In the afternoon's I crash, and crash hard! To the point my eyelids feel like bricks, they're so heavy I can barely keep them open! I was yawning, absolutely shattered and still had half my day left to go. What was I doing wrong?
I turned to the Thrive community, what was happening? That real forceful energy was diminishing by mid-afternoon, leaving me feeling burnt out and half-asleep. The community is strong (in this one - ha!) and immediately responded with like stories, but the thing with Thrive is that its personal to you. Every body reacts differently, processes stuff differently so some people started taking another shake in the afternoon, some took another tablet, some found that they were eating too much fruit (what?!) that they were causing themselves a sugar crash (despite the fact it's good sugar!).
So my promoter had me call her, quickly and efficiently she told me to take another tablet in the afternoon around 3pm which would boost me out of the slump I was suffering. My partner moaned on that the tablet was a caffiene drug and I was slumping because the caffiene was wearing out - but if that were true why had it taken 3 weeks for this to show up?
The reason behind the slump is fairly simple, I've done so much more work recently, I've been doing longer days but it hasn't felt like a chore! I've felt really motivated, had a real mental clarity and those complex jobs that were confuddling my little brain prior to Thrive have been a doddle. So now, 3 weeks down the line, my body is catching up with that a little bit! I sleep like the dead and wake up fairly brightly around 8am then try to doze until my alarm.
The thing I almost appreciate about finding an issue with the Thrive programme is that I can honestly say it's not a placebo effect (which most people ask about) and if my family decide to try Thrive I have lots of good things to say and not negative comments but experiences I guess. I didn't get the dreadful days at the start of Thrive on the detox, but I could be having a bit of that now. I'm not buzzing to the point I MUST WORK OUT three times a day, I'm just tootling along doing all the work I need to do and mass juggling!
So, I took two tablets today and I felt the tablet kick in quite quickly and even now 4 hours or so after I'm still cruising along quite happily. I now need to tackle balancing my snacks of fruit and veg (because I really am not a fan of carrot sticks) and find myself a nice sugar-free yoghurt to bring to work as I'm craving dairy at the moment and I really don't appreciate the yoghurts available at work as they're filled with sugar and that just isn't the point!
