This year the concert was held in an auditorium which formed part of the University of London, Institute of Education - I guess it would hold at full capacity around 1000 people. There were around 800 people there for the concert, gathered in a widening semi-circle around the stage. Deva Premal & Miten were joined this year by Manose, along with their assorted cast and crew. The audience - well, that's the wrong word as you're treated more like a friend, a guest to a private gathering - are encouraged to chant and sing the mantras with the group. The vibrational energy in the room is intense, and when the guests are encouraged to stand and really sing along, it's simply incredible. You can simply feel everyone's energy all vibrating in sync, you can feel everyone's positivity surrounding you, and it made the breath catch in my throat.
It's hard to describe - and frankly it sounds a bit hippy-ish when I try, but in all honesty I find the gatherings truly moving. I completely enjoy being surrounded by all of the like-minded people, I enjoy the feeling of peace it brings me and I enjoy the vibrational energy that is charged into my soul. If you want to explore meditation through mantra, or if you just want help to channel your energy using mantras - Deva Premal & Miten are the way to go.
Enjoy one of my favourite songs.
