I had said to Sean (several times) that I was going to unfreeze it and get myself back into the gym on a more regular schedule because I want to slim down a bit for several reasons, which I will explain.
And he said, in his normal supportive manner, "easier to just keep saying it than actually doing it" - he is also right. So yesterday, in a spare five minutes, I logged on and clicked the unfreeze button, re-establishing my direct debit to The Gym.
I know, I know, that is the easy part. The next step is actually going to the gym and going regularly. As I mentioned, there are a couple of events coming up that I want to slim down for. Now, before anyone has a hairy canary, I am plus size, I am also quite happy but I also have goals - not to be a svelte size 10/12 but to trim down to a beautifully curvy 18/20 - I've been there before, about 6 years ago and I let my sugar addiction take over and my gym habit fall by the wayside so the weight has crept on, and on, and on. If you read my blog you'll have seen me go through cycles of dieting and juicing and exercising and all sorts of random stuff, you'll have also listened to me go on and on about making things a habit.
Poo poo! I say to myself!
The events, this year Curves on Trend is launching its first collection and we have to do a photo shoot for marketing photos and imagery for the website - I will be one of the models. We want to use regular plus size women in a range of sizes so our customers really get an idea of what these clothes look like on normal bodies - my normal body is fine with this, my double chin is not. I feel great in the clothes and I want to look smexy - pretty simple really!
The next event is the Curve Fashion Festival in September, we couldn't go this year as a trader as we just wouldn't be ready in time so we decided we'd still go as customers but we'd wear Curves on Trend product and take fliers to hand out as an introduction. For that I want to feel comfortable in myself, as I've said before I'm a fairly laid back person when it comes to fashion and love the simple styling of jeans and a top so to wear a skirt all day at an event for plus-size women - I want to represent and I want to slay the look. So I want to be comfortable, trim some weight off of my stomach and get some squats going to firm up my butt a bit more!
The next event this year (these are not in chronological order btw) is Sean's Mum's wedding reception - they're not doing a big wedding thing as her and her partner have been together for years and have both been married before, but they are doing a party... amazingly, it's the evening of the Curve Fashion Festival so that day will be a quick turnaround! I'll be wearing - you guessed it - Curves on Trend product, not that anyone will particularly care at this event but it's about parity! This is another event though where I'm around a lot of people I know but don't know comfortably well so I'd like to feel my best.
Then the final event, this is the one I'm really wanting to look and feel great for because it's a special event and I want to be there comfortably for the whole day and night. My best friend is getting married next May - I know, its a year away but weight loss/gym habits take time!
