Instant gratification is more my style - if I see something I like, and it's not too ridiculously expensive, I'll buy it. I have no interest in trying to find that thing cheaper somewhere else just to save money, yet waste my time. Some people are amazing at finding a bargain, my Aunt is incredible, it's as if she has some sort of scanner in her eyes - she can walk into a store, scan round and if there is a bargain to be had, she's found it.
No no, I'd rather mosey around a store, take my time, if I find something = yay, if I don't, it doesn't bother me.
However, every now and again I trip over a new website or store which I find is full to the brim with bargains. And by bargains I mean everything is cheap - and let's be honest, that's exciting times.
Today was one of those days, thanks to a well placed Facebook ad - yes I was definitely you're target audience this time - I came across "Rotita". To be honest I didn't even look at the name of the website or even the price, I was immediately drawn to the top on sale. After clicking through to the website I found the bargain, this top would only cost £13 - for tops, even t-shirts that I wear that is cheap cheap cheap. I'm not saying I'm a fashionista who only wears designer, far from that. I have a certain style, I don't wear many fitted tops, I like batwings, raglan sleeves, box jumpers - I like comfort, and I like to be cool. I hate clothes sticking to me as I'm still very body conscious, so I look for clothes that fit well and let me dress how I want to be seen.
It does make me wonder though, if I can get the product that cheaply, where are they cutting costs down the chain? Is it the wages of the factory workers, supply chain or delivery? What have they cut so that they can offer the consumer these sorts of prices? Now, let's be fair, the product will not be amazing quality that lasts years - you know when you buy cheap that you're not paying for that. Thankfully a new season comes along, styles change over again and those clothes don't have to last any longer. There is something bitter-sweet about getting a bargain like that.
Although, I know (I hope - you never know when you buy things online, you just have to wait for the product to arrive) that I will look fierce in these new tops. This is the point where I have a picture of myself in my head, unfortunately the reality and the picture have discrepancies, but we're working on that!
P.S. It's almost time for Autumn sales, time to get those bargains for Christmas!
